My Story

Dr. Ranjith Thangavel, an esteemed expert in the field of Energy Science and Engineering, has a rich academic background coupled with extensive research experience in cutting-edge technologies. Holding a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Chemical and Electrochemical Engineering from CSIR – Central Electrochemical Research Institute (CSIR – CECRI) under Anna University, Chennai, Dr. Ranjith Thangavel embarked on a journey of exploration and innovation in the realm of energy storage and conversion.

 

Driven by a passion for advancing knowledge and solving real-world challenges, Dr. Ranjith Thangavel pursued further academic excellence, culminating in a Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) from Chonnam National University, South Korea, in 2019. During this time, Dr. Ranjith Thangavel delved deeply into the intricacies of lithium and sodium-ion batteries, supercapacitors, electrocatalysis, and other pivotal areas at the forefront of energy research.

 

Following the completion of their doctoral studies, Dr. Ranjith Thangavel continued to make significant contributions to the field as a Post-doctorate Researcher at both Chonnam National University and Sungkyunkwan University in South Korea. Their research endeavours during this period focused on pushing the boundaries of energy storage technologies, with a particular emphasis on electric vehicles, battery management systems, solar cells, and fuel cells.

 

In recognition of their expertise and dedication to excellence, Dr. Ranjith Thangavel was appointed as a Research Professor at Sungkyunkwan University, where they continued to lead groundbreaking research initiatives aimed at revolutionizing the energy landscape.

 

Currently serving as an Assistant Professor at the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati, Dr. Ranjith Thangavel is committed to nurturing the next generation of innovators and researchers in the field of Energy Science and Engineering. Through their mentorship, Dr. Ranjith Thangavel strives to inspire students to explore new frontiers and develop sustainable solutions to address the global energy challenges of the 21st century.

 

With a relentless pursuit of excellence and a steadfast commitment to advancing the field of energy research, Dr. Ranjith Thangavel continues to push the boundaries of knowledge and innovation, leaving an indelible mark on the landscape of renewable energy technologies.
